Some Of My Images Used As Book Covers - before and after Part 2

Book Covers - Before and After Part 2 Some time ago I created a post showing some of my images used as covers for books.  I am always curious how my wok is used, sometimes I am disappointed, but most of the time it is a pleasure to see the designs and the usage. So here we go: In these cases my original image hasn't been changed that much, most of the time only a crop and of course title and author.  Sometimes it is hard to make out my own design as you can see in this image:  My images are available for licensing through my agencies Trevillionimages   and   Arcangel Images or find something on my home page. Thanks very much. Dirk

Image Usage: Book Covers II

Some of my images that were used as book cover

It is always wonderful to see one's work used creatively. In my case it is always exciting to see how designers used my work for their clients. Apart from the occasional ad or cd-/ music cover most of the time my images are used for book cover illustrations.

I must admit that I don't create most of my images with any kind of later usage in mind. There are exceptions to the rule, but for me that would be often to limiting while creating and editing an image.

I selected some recent images that were used as covers and had not been changed, e.g. used for composite designs that made it almost impossible to identify my original work.

Here we go....

1.Petra Tessendorf -  Küstendämmerung

As you can see there hasn't been any change except for the crop. The image has been chosen by the author herself

2.  Richard Russo

I took this image on a beach in France, Normandy at a summer evening. I was a very quiet evening with the tide low and almost no wind. French publishers love images with noticeable textures

3. Fabienne Jacob

I was hurrying from one gate to another to catch a connecting flight when I shot this walking on a conveyor belt in some airport, that I don't remember now. Nothing was planned and here we are....

4. Tina Schmid

The original image was taken on a road trip through the Alps early morning in Switzerland. They changed the mountains though, but otherwise kept the overall atmosphere.

5. Andrés Neumann

This is actually no photography, but an easy illustration I created in photoshop. I used one of my textures to create this  yellow hill and rendered a tree in Photoshop, one with leaves and the same without any foliage. I used some leave brushes to makes this wind blown effect and added a sky texture.

6. Bhaskar Chattopadhyay

This is a forest path close to where I live. I took this on a misty morning and added the running person in post.

7. Ian Rankin

This is actually a tunnel that was created as avalanche protection. I liked the light coming through the several openings on the left side. I went along a very steep mountainside close to the road leading to the Swiss - Italian border.

Hopw you found this interesting.

Thanks for your attention.

Dirk
